Siaran Tergendala Lagi ...

Azfar's scabies is gone , for now ...

But the other 3 (sequential Uqbah - Aziz - Uqbah - Rahman) got infected by "Pink Eye" aka conjunctivitis Wabah Sakit Mata - similar to what this Achedy guy wrote at http://achedy.penamedia.com/newsdetail-1100.html
The eyes become something like this :

Not my kids' eye ... borrow photo from the internet.
More about this Pink Eye

Then Bibik Tutik being extremely tired (taking care of the extra laundry requirement due to scabies) got High Blood Pressure. Luckily we went for an early checkup so we manage to put Bibik Tutik under medication before her actual FOMEMA check up next month. Ayoyo I tell you ...

Finally I settled my e-filing Income tax 2005 Submission.

Not that difficult once you know what number is missing from yr EA form stated Income Tax File Number. Goshhhh the system just said "Nombor Akaun Cukai Anda Tidak Sah" ... No tips on which part that "tidak sah". I wish they could hv give some pointer , not enough digit ke , extra digit ke .... Luckily my tips come from Ms S E ... who is apparently online working at 12midnight. Was chatting and she gave me the tip, try it and EUREKA ... I solved my 2 night unsuccessful troubleshooting.

Anyway LHDN owe us this

... unfortunately we hv to wait for a couple of months before we get to file for rebate and wait moreeee mooooooonths before we actually get the cheques for the rebate. Tak Aci betul le LHDN ni.

Ahhhhh to add more spices ... Baby Faizus Sahli, (the latest addition to my nephews/nieces list), barely a month old, is now warded at IJN

for fullcheck up of his heart irregularity. They have not finalized the diagnosis but what I know Baby Faiz has been warded for the first few days of his delivery and has been on medication ever since. Something is causing his heart to beat extra fast !

Ahhhhh Ayah's Lumut Sail Away Plan is not happening as plan. Now it is already 3 weeks busted the original timeline.

The end result of all these excitement is that ... Mak has very little energy left and a dry cough for the last 1 week.

So what keep me going ... guaranteed hugs from the boys ... every night without fail

Pink Eye - Conjunctivitis

http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/ill_injure/sick/conjunctivitis.html

You rub and rub your eyes, but they won't stop itching. When you look in the mirror, they are red and puffy. What's going on? Do you have a strange sickness? No - you have a common problem called conjunctivitis. It's better known as pinkeye.

What Is Conjunctivitis?
Conjunctivitis (say: kon-jung-tih-vy-tis) is the most common eye problem kids can have. It can cause redness, itching, inflammation (say: in-fla-may-shun) or swelling, and a clear or white, yellow, or greenish gooey liquid to collect in the eyes.

It's called pinkeye because the white part of the eye and inside the eyelids become red or pink when you have it. Pinkeye may start in one eye, but many people get conjunctivitis in both eyes at the same time. Conjunctivitis usually doesn't hurt, but itching can be annoying. Sometimes it feels like you have an eyelash or a speck of sand in your eye and can't get it out.

Adults, especially parents and teachers who spend a lot of time with kids, can get conjunctivitis too. Conjunctivitis lasts a short time, usually about a week or less, and then goes away by itself or after treatment.

How Do I Get Conjunctivitis?
Kids get conjunctivitis for different reasons. Most kids get it from bacteria (say: bak-teer-ee-uh) or viruses. This is called infectious (say: in-fek-shus) conjunctivitis. Bacteria can be seen only with a powerful microscope, and viruses are even smaller than bacteria! Bacteria live on your skin or in your nose or mouth all the time and you never know it. Most don't ever bother you, but certain kinds of bacteria can cause infections like conjunctivitis.

Sometimes kids get ear infections when they have conjunctivitis because the same bacteria can cause both problems.

Viruses, like the kind that can give you a cold, can cause conjunctivitis, too. Conjunctivitis is easy to catch just through touching. You can get conjunctivitis by touching the hand of an infected friend who has touched his or her eyes. If you then touch your eyes, the infection can be spread to you. Washing your hands often with warm, soapy water is the best way to avoid being infected with conjunctivitis.

Kids also get conjunctivitis because of allergies or because they get something irritating in their eyes, but these kinds of conjunctivitis are not contagious.

What Should I Do if I Think I Have It?
If your eyes are itchy, red, or more crusty than usual in the morning, you should tell a parent. Don't wait, because conjunctivitis spreads easily. Your mom or dad probably will call the doctor for an appointment.

What Will the Doctor Do?
No one knows exactly how many kids get conjunctivitis each year but your doctor treats many who have it and can spot it pretty quickly. The doctor also will ask you if your eyes have been red and itchy lately or if you have noticed any goopy stuff in your eyes. It's important to tell the doctor if you know anyone, like a brother or a friend, who has red and itchy eyes too.

Your doctor will know if you have conjunctivitis by looking carefully at your eyes to see if they are red and if any liquid is coming from them. The doctor will want to know that you can see OK and that nothing has gotten into your eye. Finally, your doctor may examine your ears to see if you have an ear infection caused by the same bacteria that can cause conjunctivitis.

If you have conjunctivitis caused by bacteria, the doctor will probably prescribe antibiotic eye drops or ointment for you. Babies are usually given the ointment and kids and adults get the eye drops. Your mom or dad can help you put the medication in your eyes a couple of times a day for about a week. It's important to use whatever the doctor prescribes so the infection doesn't come back. Unfortunately, these drops won't work if a virus is causing your conjunctivitis. If allergies are causing your itchy, red eyes, the doctor may prescribe special eye drops to help with these allergy symptoms.

If your eyes are bothering you, try using a cool or warm washcloth on your eyes. Sometimes, your mom or dad can make you feel better by gently cleaning your eyes with warm water and cotton balls to remove the gooey liquid or crusty stuff. They should be very careful to wash their hands and throw out the cotton balls they use. Washcloths and towels used to clean or dry your eyes should go right into the laundry so no one else gets infected.

Most schools in the United States require a note from a doctor for a kid with pinkeye to return to school. Kids can usually return to school after their first 24 hours of antibiotic eye drops.

Though it might be tough, try not to touch your eyes and remember to wash your hands often. These two things will help keep pinkeye from spreading to your friends and family members. They will appreciate it!

Scabies

Azfar is infected with Scabies or Kudis Malam or Kudis Buta.

He is now on treatment :
1) Scabies Med
2) Piriton to ease the itchiness
3) Once a day bathing w/ warm water + daun rebusan sirih ... again to reduce itchiness
4) Bedding & Clothing washed in hot water

Really wish there is more that I can do. Pity him, the itchiness is at its worst night time. And during day time he is always drowsy and not so alert due to Piriton.
But at least now, there is no new infected areas. CONTAINED but not 100% cured yet.

My suspicion is that he got infected at his new school. I've yet to speak with the Headmistress, asking her opinion on how to handle this problem. I think I should do it fast. Furthermore he has this sleep-at-school programme this weekend.

Read on to know the devil ...

What is scabies?
Scabies is a contagious skin infection that is caused by a type of mite.

This is the culprit.

Mites are insect-like creatures that burrow, or tunnel, under the outer layer of skin. Mites lay eggs under the skin and feed themselves on the blood from their victims.

This is how it looks on your skin.

Mites are about the size of a dot at the end of a sentence and usually cannot be seen. They are grayish in color and nearly transparent.

What are the symptoms?

Involved skin becomes itchy, irritated, warm, reddened and blistered.
Itching is usually worse at night.

The skin irritation is more likely to be seen in the following locations:
a) between the fingers and toes;
b) around the wrist or navel;
c) in the folds of the elbow, armpit, belt-line, abdomen, groin;
d) in the genital area.

Favorite spots.

Small children or babies may have involvement of the face, scalp, palms of the hands, or soles of the feet.
Itching and rash may not become apparent until as long as 6 weeks after becoming infested. The itching occurs as a result of an allergic reaction to the mites and their waste.
When a person has scabies symptoms, an accurate diagnosis by a medical professional is important in order to ensure appropriate prescription treatment.

How is scabies spread?

Scabies is spread by direct skin-to-skin or close bodily contact.
Even the cleanest person can become infested when there is direct, skin-to-skin contact with a person who has scabies.
Due to the frequency of infestations on the hands, contact with hands, i.e. shaking or holding hands, can spread scabies.
The scabies mite only infests human beings. It survives no more than a three to four days away from the human body. Pets do not carry the mites that cause scabies in humans.

How is scabies diagnosed?

Diagnosis of scabies occurs by close examination of the skin, including finding and recognizing the mite in a small skin scraping and recognizing the mite burrows.

What are the steps for eliminating scabies mites?

Treatment consists of applying an insecticidal creme or lotion and cleaning the infected person’s recently used clothing and bedding.
All household members and intimate contacts should also be treated at the same time as the infected person. Intimate contacts are persons who have had prolonged skin-to-skin contact with someone who has scabies. Treating everyone at the same time prevents re-infestation with scabies from other persons who might be infected but not have symptoms yet.
Obtain the prescription treatment creme or lotion from a health care provider.

CAUTION!
Always follow the directions provided with your scabies treatment.
Never use the treatment more often than recommended. Some insecticide treatments can be dangerous when too much is used.
Wash and dry all bedding, clothing, and towels used by the infected person within the four days before the treatment was started. Use hot water and the high heat setting on the dryer.
Items that cannot be washed and dried can be placed in a sealed plastic bag and stored for a minimum of seven days to allow time for the mites and eggs to die.
Vacuum furniture and bedding. There is no need to use pesticides or insecticide sprays to control scabies on household objects or in the environment.
