Sentral: Pegawai bomba sampaikan khutbah

And the results are ...
shocking but not lah unimaginable.
Our hometown Trg state is still in the dark blue, while our residence town SA is now in multicolour. This change of baton was what Oghang Ghanu experience 2 terms ago. It's now happening in other states. Will history repeat itself ? Will changes in other states are to stay ?
We'll see ...
At at the federal level, no more 2/3 majority. So both sides better behave and perform ... else ... mokcik sendiri masuk calon next round :)
At the federal level, my interest will be to know who's the Transport and Women and Education Minister.
Transport - because it has direct impact to my current employment.
Women - because I am a women.
Education - because I got 4 schooling age kids.
In one or two week time, when the "excitement" is over, things will get back to normal. Time to deliver the promises and sayings. Now Malaysian knows where the power is --- at the ballot box.
Ohhh someone kindly clean up the banners around our homes, with the rains pouring the sight is getting uglier by the day.
~~~~~~
In the mean time, I do have my upmost respect to these 2 guys going out .... Kak Ijat & Dr Koh. Dr Koh is such a good leader - humble in victory, gracious in loss.
Koh offers to step down
Gerakan Acting President Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon meets Chief Minister designate Lim Guan Eng
PENANG: Acting Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon has taken full responsibility for the party’s poor showing in the general election and offered to step down.
“We did not expect such a big swing of votes in favour of the Opposition. The party’s central committee will conduct a post-mortem and meet to determine my future as well as the party’s,” said the outgoing chief minister.
Dr Koh said he visited Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas at Seri Mutiara yesterday to officially inform him of the general election results.
Perfect gentleman: Dr Koh welcoming Lim to his office in Penang Sunday.
“I want to urge the people to give their full support to the leaders they have chosen. Give your new leaders a chance to perform. This is also what I told civil servants.
“We may have different opinions on policies but I must accept the views of the people,” he said.
On Gerakan playing an effective opposition role in the DAP-led government, Dr Koh replied: “I am not sure how that is possible because we don’t even have one representative in the state assembly.”
He added that his position as Penang Development Corporation and Penang Water Supply Corporation chairman would be decided by the new government.
“I am now only the caretaker chief minister,” he said after receiving a courtesy call from incoming chief minister and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and about 20 party officials yesterday.
Commenting on the call by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down, Dr Koh said Abdullah had said that he would continue leading the country.
“As far as Gerakan is concerned, it is still part of the Barisan coalition,” he said.
Addressing the media, Lim thanked Dr Koh for “welcoming” the party into his office.
“I appreciate and thank him for his willingness to accept the people’s decision and we welcome his views. The new administration is one for all Penangites, not just one particular party,” he said.
Lim and the DAP officials later paid a courtesy call on the governor.
The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Seri Mutiara at 5pm tomorrow.
Hours after conceding defeat to the Opposition, Dr Koh returned to his 28th-floor office in Komtar to pack his belongings.
At 2.30am yesterday, Dr Koh left his office carrying a pillow, some documents and personal items.
Speaking to the press briefly before leaving the tower office, Dr Koh said he was taking home the pillow which he used to sleep on when he was tired at work.
“The other state executive members will be coming in to clear their offices as well,” he said.
Pangkoh molek deh !
Be certain of your own conviction
Listen and read around what are the pros and cons argument
Digest facts and figures visible in front of your eyes
But come the day and the moment of truth ...
Listen to your inner heart and let it be guided by your conscience
Don't ever let your emotion rule
Coz' one cross DOES make a difference
Remember ... the lives of our loved ones are affected by those "in the office"
To those travelling out of town for voting, drive safely and "pangkoh" wisely.
Selamat mengundi !
For the last election, both Ayahanda and me excitedly travelled all the way back to KT to cast our votes. We felt strongly to make a statement with the vote.
This time around, looks like both of us are not going to vote. Ayahanda's travel plan is half way confirm, he might not be in the country for some time and as far as myself is concerned, i've changed my MyKad address to BJ address but I forgot to change my voting registrar. Somehow I thought this JPN and the SPR is integrated but I am wrong big time !
But in case Ayahanda's travel plan change, he'll want to vote back in KT and I guess I'll still make the homecoming trip along, but no voting for me. It will be lending my ears to the "cerite-ceriti" from my in-laws while eating the keropok lekor and sata.
So ... those who can vote - GO VOTE ! May the force be with you !
Olala ... I can't be happier
Today I found the person, the one I've been hoping to meet ... for the last 13 years.
Albeit the encounter is only a virtual one via friendster, it's enough to confirm that what happened 13 years ago was fated for the best of my interest.
Olala ... I can't be happier !
Beliau telah kembali kepada Tuhannya
Alfatihah ... for whatever he has done, rightfully and wrongfully ... the lives of 240million people have to go on ...
Forgiveness is in the heart of each and every life he has touched, gracefully or brutally.
When I visited Bandung a few years ago, the sentiments of my immediate family memberes were crystal clear. Things were better "dulu", goods were more affordable, life was more "tolerable" ...
For whatever it's worth, my prayers are for the rest of the nation to move forward.
Painting is theraupatic ... well to a certain extent
After close to 10 years, finally we repaint the BJ house. Coupled with the need for the mother for some theraupatic activity which does not cost lots of RM - so after the Sunday Pasar Tani trip, we go get the paint and the necessary tool. Ayah is out with Aziz to Temerloh for the pokok cabai trip. With the left over "resources" that is in the house today, here's some photos of WIP and completed task.
Apparently for J0tun paint, you select the colour, then the shopkeeper will take the white paint, put it under a computerized machine which will drop the mixture of "ibu warna" , something like when you put colouring for yr "kuih-muih".
Then the paint will be "shake"
Aman choose Arcylic Blue for the boys' rooms.
Mission accomplished !
For the first time since my employment with this Co, I've to present a paper for approval to spend money (not mine) ... in front of a committee which I've been hearing all sorts of "tough" stories. And I was supposed to drag along more experience-with-the-committee collegues. Had 3 candidates in my mind but none of them are available - speaking of kawan di masa susah. Anyway, for the last one week, I've been going around asking for what are others' experiences and learning the Dos and Don'ts. What line works and what line to be avoided. What I hold dearly is "don't say too much" just "say enough".
I keep rehearsing my lines the night before and the 2 hr morning wait at the Immigration office (to pick up Bibik's visa) provided a good timing for silent rehearsal. I arrived at the meeting room early and waited patiently (and nervously) until my time. When they called me, I keep telling myself the rule ... "don't say too much" just "say enough".
So I presented my case ... point1, point2, point3, point4 ... then concluded as quickly as I can. I stumbled a bit on the final evaluation point because I was told, by one of the "tip"pers, to simplify but I guess I've over simplified things. One of committee member demanded the detail analysis, which I have but did not submit on recommendation from one of my tippers,so I told her I'll resubmit. Shuuuyyyy I thought it will be downhill from that point but luckily the other members were OK on the overall analysis and pointed that it's a good cost saving for the Co with the new approach (onsite offsite balancing)bla bla bla and good benchmark data .... oklah ... after 15 minutes ... I hear the statement that I wanted to hear ... "We approve this paper and you can proceed, however please submit your detail evaluation to complete the submission" ... wokeyyy that's not a problem .
Phewwww ! Mission accomplished !
When I updated M4d4m in her room, she's so happy, siap bangun dari kerusi lagi "Good Job for 1st timer" .
Alhamdulillah ... now I can have a good weekend and prepare the next step ... Monday lah.
