This is the time of the year when money flows again ... what more with 3 schooling kids. Let's do a count ... so far ...
1) New school uniform - 8 new Gamis - 20*8 = 160.00
2) New white T-shirt and pants - No need new for now, just replenish in Oct !
3) Yearly fees + books + exam fees - 2*425.00 + 1 *600 = 1450.00
4) New School shoes/socks - No need to buy new, the Tahfiz ask to wear slippers !
5) New bag - No need, re use previous years !
6) New Stationaries - No need to buy new, do house cleaning - can find some pencils, erasers, rulers lying around somewhere in the house.

What Is Your Qurban plan for this year ?
I've been joining the Al-Ameen Korban di Kemboja for the last 5 years.
The most unforgetful was back in 1999/2000 when I joined 2 portions at one go. One under my name and another one as a present from me to a person.
This year, Alhamdullilah, I manage to allocate one portion for the Al-Ameen programme.
In addition, we also book 2 portions for the Qurban back in Pulau Duyong Kecil, KT. This one is more for the family spirit together gether with the waris warah.
Anyway, if you have some extra rezeki, do join the Al-Ameen Korban di Kemboja.

Konsert Sure Heboh
2 days ago I was asked this question.
Aman : Mak boleh tak kita pergi Konsert Sure Heboh Sabtu ni ?
Mak : Hmmm ... nanti Mak tanya Ayah.
Aman : Tapi Aman ngan Aziz dah janji dengan Raziq, Adlan nak pergi Sabtu dengan Ahad pagi.
Mak : Haaaa ... lain kali jangan janji dulu sebelum Mak kata OK. Nanti Mak talipon Mama Raziq.
So ... would you bring your kids go to Konsert Sure Heboh ?
Aman & Aziz are mine, 7 and 5 respectively.
Raziq is 7 and Adlan is 5. Raziq & Adlan are my biras's kids staying in the same neighbourhood as me.

Cornered
Friday morning does not start very well. I am not very "happy" with a decision which I feel is not based on the right justification and reasoning. I've put up my point more than twice but it just doesn't seem to get through. The other party still defending the decision with a lost-at-the-round-about manner with higher than normal pitch.
So I felt like the left lion, cornered but me as me lah .. still buat muka selamba.
I am sure later, later, later my view point will be appreciated and stand to be the right decision.
I've learned to "back off" when it is not the time yet to fight back. Have to find the right time and the right occasion ... no no no this is not politics but to me it is more like strategizing my next move.
I've learnt that it is not always easy to do the right thing but me as me lah ... believe in keeping to principles. I did a personality test a few years back and mine is GOLD colour. Principles oriented person - can be good can be a bad attributes, depending on situation.
Thank you (again) Maria Ho for the above photo and also this baby in the sink photo.

Meeting Kak Ijat
Friday Dec 2nd is a BIG DAY in MAS.
There is that THE MEETING at MAA - with Pak Lah & the new MD. I'm not short listed to join THE MEETING. Heard that the session went well and lots of energy and positive aura transpired. Hopefully the worse is over and we now can put any differences aside and work towards unleashing our potentials - untuk menjamin periuk nasi yang lebih makmur.
Instead I was asked to join Bicara Minda Bersama Professional IT Wanita --- with Kak Ijat of KPWKM at PANPAC ... Mbak Ria was there too !
Kak Ijat get things working in her KPWKM. Of course, she is not perfect and some more a politician. At least, I do know that things are moving for the Malaysian Women , in general. And there must be a strong focus force behind it.
Things like this DON'T JUST HAPPEN. It need a vision, a plan and execution !
What was brought up during the Bicara Minda - IT macam-macam benda, the need for focus on social study, IRPA/grant/fulus, need for Women to age gracefully, need for the younger Women to strive for the best ... learnt about the other use of the term IT ... that is Ibu Tunggal.
Lots more need to be worked on but things are moving in the right direction for the Malaysian Women in general.
Kak Ijat briefly mention about Going Beyond Victimhood. I found this writeup which explain more on this Going Beyond Victimhood.

"Going Beyond Victimhood
The Ministry of Women and Family Development's first campaign was on the issue of violence against women. "But we stood it the other way: it was 'Women Against Violence.' Because we thought, we care enough about the men and the babies, children who are victims of violence, and we don't want women to always feel that they are victims. Not in this century.
"We want women to be positive about themselves. They must stop thinking of themselves only as victims. We are leaders. We are mothers. Like, 'How did your son get to be so narrow minded?' We are the ones who are bringing up our sons and where did he learn to discriminate against his sisters? So we are taking that approach.
"It is no longer tenable to go around talking about women as victims only. Personally I am really bored with that. In Malaysia there is nothing the Malaysian woman cannot do. She makes decisions about her life on her own."
Shahrizat Abdul Jalil holds a law degree from the Univeristy of Malaya, and served as an assistant Tresury solicitor at the Ministry of Finance. She founded her own corporate law firm in 1993. She has been a member of the board of directors of several companies, and was the first woman CEO of a major Malaysian business, a conglomerate of two companies, Island and Peninsular Berhad and Austral Enterprises Berhad. She spoke briefly about her own life. "I was lucky that in my lifetime and in my life experiences I did not have to go through any form of discrimination. Because I was lucky to have a father who believed in his daughters, and I married a man who was educated in America so he is very liberated and secure for himself. He wants me to do well in my life. He feels that part of my success is his success too. So I am lucky in that sense, but not all women are that lucky in Malaysia so I hope to bring my experiences to the ministry. And I hope that something good will come out of it."
